 Good product, bad service July 20, 2010

My cartridge came fairly soon after it shipped. But it took a WEEK after my order to actually be shipped. I think this is unreasonable at best.

This product was one third of the cost of the branded toner cartridge. It loaded and worked fine . I will see if it lasts as long as the HP brand.

When the product arrived, it was not functioning because a spring was not connected to the plastic part that covered the cylinder. After I fixed that, the cartridge was difficult to slide into place. More recently, I pulled it out to shake and redistribute the toner, and I again found it difficult to push the cartridge into the installed position.
The price is great, and so I'll give this produce another shot, but if I experience the same problems, I'll likely go back to genuine HP toner cartridges.

A few months ago, I tried to save money by buying a "compatible" toner cartridge. The cartridge cost less, but did not last long. I had forgotten that toner cartridges also contain the light sensitive rollers that are responsible for the image being printed. They last longer than the toner powder. The cheaper re-filled cartridges do not replace the roller, so the compatible cartridges lose the ability to print clearly before they run out of toner. From now on, I'll buy only genuine manufacturer cartridges. Especially when the price has come down, as this one has.

It is a ginuine HP product which I trust. I bot it as an extra so that I would not run out of toner and then have to scramble to find one locally in a rush at a higher price or lower quality.
